InLinz Challenge #1 and Annabelle's Stamp Ribbon Challenge

I wanted to do a ribbon card for Annabelle's challenge, see here, but after I finally came up with something to do with ribbon, the colors matched those on the InLinz Challenge for a boy's birthday card, see here.  So I decided to combine the challenges.  Please connect to the InLinz challenge because from June 8th - June 11th, people will vote on the card they like best.  I hope you like my card enough to vote for me!!

For this card I used grosgrain ribbon from a Target 6-pack.  I cut each piece approx. 3.5" except for the first piece which was approx. 2".  I wove the pieces together until I ran out of ribbon. After looking at it and trying to think of some way to put it on a card, I decided it looked like a candle and just needed a flame.  So I cut some CTMH sunflower ribbon and folded into a point to make the flame.  I used my Cuttlebug woodgrain embossing folder on Kraft colored cardstock.  I found the sentiment from a block of chipboard components.

  4. Thank you! I use this technique for homecoming mums using acetate ribbon. Apparently this tradition of mums for homecoming is a Texas one.
